June 2015 Trip to Santa Fe and Taos

We spent 2 days in Santa Fe and did 2 hikes out of the Santa Fe Ski Area. The first was to Spirit Lake and the second to Deception Peak 12,100 ft. There were wildflowers everywhere, so the pictures are mostly of the flowers we saw along the way. Deception Peak is above treeline, so the flowers on that day were mostly in the Alpine Meadows. After our stay in Santa Fe we moved on to Taos where we had 2 more days of hiking before heading to Estes Park. The first day was Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico (13,161 feet). We took the new trail from Williams Lake to the peak. The next day we hiked Devisadero Loop, just outside of town where we saw tons of cactus in bloom at the lower elevations.
