Land Trip to Indonesia February 2013
These pictures are from the land part of my trip to Indonesia in February 2013. The pictures from February 20, 2013 are from Manokawi the capital of the Provence of West Papua. The pictures beginning on March 3, 2013 are from my 5 day trip to Flores, Indonesia. The trip started in Ende and ended in Labuan Bajo. The purpose of the trip was to hike up a volcano, see the local countryside and see the Komodo Dragons. The weather was rainy and cold the whole time. Cold being in the 70's but this was surprising considering Flores is 8º South of the Equator. It was an interesting 5 days. The rangers on Rinca Island would not go into the jungle because in the last months 3 rangers were attacked by the Komodo Dragon and bitten. The bite of the Komodo dragon is dangerous because their saliva contains deadly bacteria. The ranger that lead me was visible nervous when we enter the edge of the jungle.
